Game-therapy room

Was founded in 2004 by an international Swedish charitable organization implementing educational programs.

The goal of the only game-therapy cabinet in the republic is to create a warm and relaxed atmosphere for the benefit of the sick children’s treatment process.

Game-therapy cabinet tries to distract the children from the hospital-intensive environment during their long-term treatment. The cabinet provides also clown service, who participates in all treatment procedures with children, helping them overcome fear and difficulties. It is noteworthy that such a method did not have its precedent and was first used in this hospital.

The game is vitally important for a child’s mental development. Game-therapy cabinet helps children to stay in the same life as at a healthy time: to play, interact and perform homework. Sometimes a sick child needs help to play, or his game is arranged in bed. It happens that a sick child does not have the strength to play. In that case, he becomes involved in the game of others.

The key to achieving the best outcome with game-therapy is close cooperation with the medical staff. Professional treatment and comfortable environment affect much better on everybody. The play room for babies seems to be an oasis in the hospital world. It is a place where a sick child gets a vital energy.

Group and individual game-therapy work methods are used during performing the following tasks:

communication difficulties
various fears, distress, distrust, indecision
over-adaptation, lack of initiative, passivity

behavioral disorders of a child, acquiring bad habits, habit of nostrils, theft attempts, smoking, early alcoholism
aggressive behavior

Since 2007, a psychologist-pedagogue, in partnership with the polyclinic and hospital staff, is implementing the Family Center Educational and Development Program within the framework of the sponsorship program sponsored by the Swedish benevolent organization.

The family center is mainly engaged in work with parents. Regular meetings with pediatricians, narrow specialists (gynecologist, genetic, traumatologist, stomatologist), pedagogue, psychologist, speech specialist and other invited specialists. Discussed topics include child care, medical care, upbringing and development, as well as psychological and social counseling for all family members.

Family center is a place where parents, family members, children can meet and get information about medical, pedagogical, psychological and social issues.

Here, it is a good tradition to organize various fun activities on the occasion of the Children’s Rights Protection Day, the New Year. Fairy-tale heroes, clowns, magicians, and, of course, Santa Claus and Snow Maiden visit the small ones.
